Solution:

Given,

Mean of 100 items =64

Sum of 100 items= 64×100=6400

Sum of 98 items=6400-(26+6)=6368

New sum when correct values are added=6368+36+90=6494

So, new mean= 6494÷100=64.94= 64.9 Ans.

Hope it helps you....

Answer:

Given,

Mean of 100 items = 64

Sum of items = 100 × 64 = 6400.

It is given that 26 and 9 were misread as 36 and 90, so,

Correct sum = 6400 + (36 – 26) + (90 – 9) = 6400 + 91 = 6491

Correct Mean =

correct sum.

total no. of items

= 6491
