Question :-

The mean of 100 observatios is 50. if one of the observation which was 50 is replaced 150 then what will be the resulting mean ?

Solution :-

Now, the observation 50 is replaced by 150, then Eq. ( i) becomes, 100Σi=1xi=5000-50+150=5100. ∴ Resulting mean =100Σi=1xi100=5100100=51. Hence, the resulting mean is 51.

Given

the mean of 100 observatios is 50. if one of the observation which was 50 is replaced 150 then what will be the resulting mean

To find

mean

solve

Now, the observation 50 is replaced by 150, then Eq. ( i) becomes, 100Σi=1xi=5000-50+150=5100. ∴ Resulting mean =100Σi=1xi100=5100100=51. Hence, the resulting mean is 51
