SOLUTION

GIVEN

  • The mean of 11 numbers is 7

  • One of the numbers 13 is deleted.

TO DETERMINE

The mean of the remaining 10 numbers

EVALUATION

Here it is given that,

the mean of 11 numbers is 7

So the sum of 11 numbers

 = 11 \times 7

 = 77

Now One of the numbers 13 is deleted.

So remaining number of numbers = 11 - 1 = 10

Now the sum of the remaining 10 numbers

 = 77 - 13

 = 64

Hence the required new mean

 =  \displaystyle \:  \frac{64}{10}

 = 6.4

FINAL ANSWER

The mean of the remaining 10 Numbers

= 6.4
