Answer:

the mean of 12 numbers is 24

if 5 is added to every number then the new mean is:

sum of all the numbers / observations ÷ total number of observations = mean

so here sum / 12 = 24

=>sum = 24 × 12

=> sum = 288

so if 5 is added to every number then the sum will be 12 × 5 =60

so now the new sum we got is 60. we will add 60 to 288 = 348

sum we got = 348

total observation is still 12 only.

so new mean = 348 /12 = 29

so the answer is option C 29.
