The correct mean of the given is 31.25 .

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

The mean of 16 items was found to be 30.

On checking, it was found that 2 items were wrongly taken as 22 and 18 instead of 32 and 28 respectively.

To find:

Find the correct mean.

Solution:

Mean = sum of the items / no of items

Sum = mean \times no of items = 30 \times 16 = 480

(32 +28) – (22 + 18) = 20

Correct mean = \frac{(480 + 20)}{16} = 31.25
