There are 16 numbers, and their mean is 8.

Let their sum be S. So mean = S/16 =8.

If two is added to each number , the sum increases by 16 x 2 = 32.

To find the mean we divide by 16, so mean = (S+32)/16 =8+2 =10

Hence the new mean is 10

LET THE NUMBERS BE X1,X2,...X16,Then
(x_{1} + x_{2} \: + ... x_{16}) \div 16 = 8
 (x_{1 } \: + x_{2} \: + ... + x_{16}) = 128

On adding 2 to each no.

 x_{1} \: + x_{2} + \: ... + x_{16} = 128 + 32
on solving ,
 ( x _{1} + x_{2} + .... x_{16}) + 16 = 10
So, NEW MEAN IS 10.
