the mean of 16 numbers is 8 if 2 is added to each number then what will be the new mean

Here Mean is = 8

Total Number of observation = 16

As we know
Mean = Sum of observation/ Total Number of observation


8 = Total of observation / 16

Total of observation = 128

As there is increase in every observation by 2, and there is total 16 observation
That's why total increase will be = 32

Hence New Total of observation will be = 128 + 32 = 160

Now, New Mean = 160/16

= 10

Hence Mean will be 10
