(x1+x2+x3+……….+x11+x12)/12 = 20

x1+x2+x3+……….+x11+x12=20*12

New total after multiplying by 3

X1+X2+X3+X4+X5+X6+……….+X12 = 3*20*12

New mean = (3*20*12)/12

= 3*20

= 60

Answer:

The mean of 12 numbers is 20. So if each number is multiplied by, the new mean will be 20*3 = 60. ... So the sum of the 12 numbers when multiplied by 3 = 240*3 = 720. And the new mean of the 12 numbers = 720/12 = 60
