the mean of 20 observation is 36.find new mean if each observation is multiplied by 5

If you see the total number of observations multiplied by the mean = the sum of all the observations= 20*36=720
If we multiply all the observations by 5 then
720*5= 3600
Mean=Sum of observations divided by the number of observations So,
3600/20=180
Thus the mean is 180.
OR
36*5=180
