The mean of 20 observation is 48 . Later on it was found that the observation 34 is misreadvas 43 .Find the new mean

total = mean × 20

= 48 × 20 = 960

misread observation difference = 43 - 34 = 9

correct mean = (960-9)÷20

= 951÷20 = 47.55
