The mean of 5 number is 27 if one of the number in excluded the mean get reduced by 2.determines the excluded number

Hi ,

Sum of 5 numbers = 5 × mean

= 5 × 27

= 135

Let the number excluded = x

Sum of the 4 numbers = 4 ×( 27 - 2 )

135 - x = 4 × 25

135 - x = 100

- x = 100 - 135

- x = - 35

x = 35

Therefore ,

Required number = x = 35
