  1. answer is 11 or -11 let observations be a,b,c,d,e then a+b+c+d+e ÷ 5= 7 i.e a+b+c+d+e=35(1) now a+b+c+d÷4=6 i.e a+b+c+d=24(2) now eq(1) - eq(2) i.e e= 35-24 = 11

Step-by-step explanation:

mean of 5 number is 7

sum of these 5 number = (7×5)= 35

mean of remaining number = 6

sum of remaining number 6×4= 24

excluded number =( sum of the given 5 number ) -( sum of the remaining 4 number)

= 35-24

excluded number = 11

hope it will help you
