Question:-
The mean of 5 numbers is 27 if one number is excluded the mean becomes 25 find the excluded number.
Given:-
- The mean of 5 number is 27
- If one Number is excluded the mean become 25
Solution:-
Formula used:-
- The sum of 5 number of mean=27×5=135
- The sum of 4 Number of mean=25×4=100
To find the excluded number of new mean we have to subtract the sum of 5 number of mean from the sum of 4 Number of new mean
=>Excluded number=orginal mean -New mean
=>Excluded Number=135-100
=>Excluded Number=35
Hence,
- The excluded Number is 35 of the mean

Mean of five numbers=27
So, sum of 5 numbers=27 x 5=135
let excluding number is x
now ,
sum of 4 numbers =135-x
mean=sum of 4 numbers/4=(135-x)/4
=> 27-2=(135-x)/4
=> 25 x 4=135-x
=> 100-135=-x
=> x=35
Hence excluded number is 35
