the mean of 5 numbers is 4 if 1 is added to each number ,then . find the new mean

Mean:4
Sum of all the observations:no of observations into mean
=5 into 4
=20. Now adding 1 to each number means adding 1 times no of observations to the sum of observations
=1 times 5= 5
20+5=25
Now find the mean
25/no of observations
25/5=5
Thus answer is 5
