The mean of 5 observations is 50 ,one of the observations is removed from the data ,hence the mean became 45 and what the removed observation?

mean of 5=50
total of 5=50×5
=250
mean of 4 =45
total =45×4
=180
removed=250-180
=70

The removed observation is 70




If u see for the first one sum of observation is 250(5*50)
Because sum of observation =no of observation * mean
If remove one observation the sum of observation is 180
Here to get removed observation u need to subtract 250-180 we get 70


So the removed observation is 70
