The mean of 50 observation is 35. Later on, it was known that the value of one observation was taken as 50,

which was wrong. Find the mean of remaining observation by excluding the wrong observation.

Answer:

Sum of the 50 observations =36×50=1800

Two observations 30 and 42 are deleted

then sum of the remaining 48 observations =1800−[30+42]=1728

Therefore  req. mean = 481728=36
