Given that

Set of numbers  =  6  10 11  x  12  y^2

Given Mean = 10
Thus

Mean = 6 + 10 + 11 + x + 12 + y^2 / 6
So
39 + x + y^2 = 60
x +  y^2 = 60 - 39 = 21
x + y^2 = 21
Putting   y = x + 7
x + x^2 + 49 + 14 x = 21
15 x + x^2  + 28 = 0
x^2 + 15 x + 28 = 0
