Answer:

Observation: 6, 8, x + 2, 10, 2x - 1, 2

No. of observation = 6

Sum of observation = 6 + 8 + x + 2 + 10 + 2x - 1 + 2

= 3x + 27

Mean = \bf \frac{Sum \: of \: observations }{Number \: of \: observations }

 \bf 9= \frac{3x + 27 }{6 } \\  \\ \bf 3x +27 = 54 \\  \\ \bf 3x = 54 - 27 \\  \\ \bf 3x = 81 \\  \\ \bf x =  \frac{27}{3}  \\  \\ \boxed{ \bf x = 9}</p><p>

Hence, the value of x is 27.

Observations :

  • 6
  • 8
  • x + 2 = 11
  • 10
  • 2x - 1 = 17
  • 2

Hence, observations = 6,8,11,10,17,2

What is Mean?

The average of a given set of numbers is called the Arithmetic mean, or simply the mean, of the given numbers.

Mean = \bf \frac{Sum \: of \: observations }{Number \: of \: observations }
