use formula ,
mean = sum of all numbers /total number
given ,
mean of 6 numbers = 22
hence ,
22 = sum of 6 numbers /6
sum of 6 numbers = 22 x 6 = 132

according to question ,
one unknown number is added ,
let unknown number is X
then,
sum of 6 numbers + X = 132 +X
total numbers = 7

now ,
mean = (132 +X)/7

26 = (132 +X )/7

26 x 7 = 132 + X

X =182-132 = 50
hence unknown number is 50

Hi there,

let x be the sum of the 6 numbers.
therefore,

x/6 = 22
x= 22 x 6
x= 132

now let you be the added number
therefore,

(x + y) / 7 = 26
(132 + y) / 7 = 26
132 + y = 26 x 7
132 + y = 182
y = 182 - 132
y = 50

therefore 50 is the added number.

hope it helps you out mate.
