Answer:

The man of six observation was found to be 40 Later on it was detected that in one observation 82 was misread as 28 Find the correct mean

ANSWER

Mean of 6 observation = 40

sum of all the observations = 40 X 6=240

in the above observation 82 was misread as 28 Therefore Correct sum if all the observation =240-28+82=294

Hence correct mean=

6

294

=49

Answer:

Wrong mean = 40

Wrong total = 240(6×40)

Correct total = 240 + correct observation - wrong observation

= 240 + 82 - 28

= 294

Correct mean = correct total/ no. of observations

= 294/6

= 49
