the mean of 6 observations was found to be 48 it was detected afterwords that observation 24 was taken as 42. find actual mean of observations

Answer:

Total of 6 observations = 48x6=288

Excess 42-24 = 18

correction in total =288-18=270

Actual mean=270/6=45. Ans
