Answer :-

\dfrac{x1 + x2 + x3 + x4 - - - - x8}{8} = 16

x1 + x2 + x3 + - - - - + x8 = 16 × 8

x1 + x2 + x3 + - - - - + x8 = 128

According to Question :-

New Mean = \dfrac{x1 - 3 + x2 - 3 + x3 - 3 + - - - + x8 - 3}{8}

New Mean = \dfrac{x1 + x2 + x3 + x4 + - - + x8 - (3 \times 8)}{8}

New Mean = \dfrac{128 - 24}{8}

New Mean = 13

So, the New mean is 13.
