Solution :-
The mean of 8 observations is 9
Therefore,
As we know that,
Mean
= Sum of observation / Total observation
Let the sum of observations be x
Subsitute the required values ,
9 = x/8
9 * 8 = x
x = 72
Thus, The sum of 8 observations is 72
Now,
10 and 14 are new observation are added to sum of observation and total observation become 9
Therefore, Again By using mean formula
Mean
= Sum of observation / Total observation
Subsitute the required values,
Mean = 72 + 10 + 14 / 10
Mean = 86 + 10 / 10
Mean = 96/10
Mean = 9.6
Hence,The mean of 10 observations is 9.6
