The mean of 8 observations is 12. what is the mean of new observations obtained by adding 1 to each of the observations??​

Given,

No. of Observations (n) = 8

Mean (M) = 12

M = Total/n

12 = Total/8

96 = Total

So, we got to know that 96 was the total.

Now adding 1 to each of the 8 observation will result in the total increase by 8.

New total = 96+8

= 104

n = 8

Mean = New total/n

= 104/8

= 13

The New Mean is 13.
