The mean of eight numbers is 27. If one more number is included, then the mean is 26. Find the included number.

We know that :

Mean = sum of the terms / no. Of terms

27 = sum of the terms /8

So, sum of the terms = 27 x 8 = 216

Similarly ,

26 = sum of the terms / 9

Sum of terms = 26 x 9 = 234

Hence, the included number will be : 234 - 216

= 18
