Mean marks = 60

Number of students = 100

We know that, Mean = Sum of observations/Number of observations

Mean marks = 60

Sum of marks of all students /Number of students = 60

Sum of marks of all students/100 = 60

Sum of marks of all students = 60 * 100

Sum of marks of all students = 6000

Incorrectly calculated marks of one student is 75 and the actual one is 65

So subtract 75 from sum of marks of all students and 65 simultaneously.

Sum of marks of all students = 6000 - 75 + 65 = 5990

Sum of marks of all students = 5990

Mean marks = Sum of marks of all students/Number of students

= 5990/100

= 599/10

= 59.9

Actual mean marks = 59.9

Therefore the correct mean of the marks obtained by all students is 59.9 .
