the mean of monthly salary of 12 employes of a firm is rupees 14,500.if one more person joins the firm who gets 18,400 per month . what is the mean montly salary now

Mean = Sum . of Observation /  No . of Observation
Here,
Mean = Sum of Salary of 12 mens / 12
Sum of salary of 12 mens = Mean * 12
=14500 * 12
= 174000

New Mean = Sum of salary of first 12 mens + salary of new guy/ 13
   = 174000 + 18400 / 13
   = 192400 / 13
   = Rs 14800

Answer ⇒ New Mean Monthly Salary Now = Rs 14800

Given,

mean of 12 people salary = Tk. 14, 500
one more person salary = Tk. 18, 400

To find out, what is the total mean of 13 people?

mean of 12 employees' (monthly salary) = Tk. 14, 500

Mean = Sum / Number
so, Sum = Number * Mean

sum of 12 employees' (monthly salary) = Tk. (14, 500 × 12 )
= Tk. 174, 000

sum of 13 employees' (monthly salary) = Tk. ( 174, 000 + 18, 400 )
= Tk. 192, 400

∴ net/new mean = Tk. ( $\frac{192, 400}{13}$ )
= Tk. 14, 800 (ans.)
