Let suppose we have a series

arithmetic mean = a1, a2, a3, . . . . . . .,an /n

we can write,

x = a1, a2, a3, . . . . . . .,an/n n

now, the sum of the first (n-1) terms is k

we can write,

k + an = nx

an = nx -k
