let the observation be x1,X2,X3,x4… . it is given mean of observation be x bar. therefore x1+X2+X3+x4…/n is x bar. now x1+X2+X3+x4...×k/n . we place x bar in place ofx1+X2+X3+x4../n .hence we find the new mean is k × xbar

The mean of new observation is k(x bar)

If each observation is multiplied by k, then the mean of the observations increases k times.
