The mean of six numbers is 23. If one of the numbers is excluded, the
mean of the remaining numbers is 20. Find the excluded number.​

n=6

mean=23

23=sum of number by 6

138 =sum of number.............1

if 1 number is excluded

sum of observations by total

20=sum of number by 6-1=5

100= sum of the number..........2

subtract 1 and 2

138-100

=38

therefore excluded number is 38
