The mean of the heights of 6 boys is 150cm. If the individual heights of five boys are 140cm, 143cm, 148cm, 150cm and 138cm, then find the hight of the sixth boy.

let the sixth boy's height be x
mean = 150cm

Mean = 140 + 143 + 148 + 150 + 138 + x/6 = 150cm

= 719+x /6 = 150 cm
719+x = 150×6
719+x = 900
x = 900-719 = 181 cm

hence, 181 cm is the height if the 6 th boy.
