Now, sub (2) from (1)

x+y=16

x-y=10

From x + y - ( x-y) ,

we get ,x + y-x+y

= 2y

From 16- 10

We get, 6

So, the answer after sub of equation 1 and 2 is,

2y =6

y=6/2

y=3

Now , put y=3 in equation (1)

x+y=16

x+3=16

x=16–3

x=13

Thus, we get the two numbers x and y,

13,3

13+3=16

13–3=10
