Answer:

Let the required no. be a and b.

Therefore,14 is the mean proportional between a and b.

a:14=14:b

ab= 196. eqn....1

and, 112 is third proportional to a and b

a:b=b:112

b square=112 a. eqn....2

From eqn.1;. ab=196.

a=196/b

substituting a =196/b in eqn ...2, we get:

b square= 112*196/b

b cube=112*196 and, b = 28

therefore. a=196/b

196/28. = 7

therefore the required numbers are 28 and 7
