let x be the mean proportional of 1.21 and 0.09

x /a = b/x

here , a = 1.21 , b = 0.09

x /1.21 = 0.09/x

x × x = 1.21 ×0.09

x^2= 0.1089

x =√0.1089

x = 0.33

therefore, mean proportional = 0.33

Given:

1.21 and 0.09

Let the mean proportion of 1.21 and 0.09 = x

We have to find, the mean proportion of 1.21 and 0.09 is:

Solution:

1.21, x, 0.09

∴  \dfrac{x}{1.21} = \dfrac{0.99}{x}

⇒ x × x = 1.21 × 0.09

x^{2} = 1.1 × 1.1 × 0.3 × 0.3

x^{2} = (1.1 \times 0.3)^2

x^{2} = (0.33)^2

⇒ x = 0.33

The mean proportion of 1.21 and 0.09 = 0.33

Thus, the mean proportion of 1.21 and 0.09 = 0.33
