32 is answer

Short Cut Method :-

The highest individual score is given by:-

Total Points of 8 players - Total Points of 7 players

= 14.5*8 - 12*7

= 116 - 84

= 32.

As the exclusion of 1 player led to reduction in the overall Average. Hence, the score of the highest individual score can be found by solving the question as above.

Alternate method:-

The highest individual score

= 14.5 + 2.5*7

= 14.5 + 17.5

= 32

Total score of 8 players= mean score * number of players

= 14.5*8 = 116

Total score of 7 players = mean score of 7 players* number of players

= 12*7 = 84

The highest score= Total score of 8 players — Total score of 7 players

= 116 — 84

= 32.
