◆◆Mean Wage of remaining 40 workers is Rs. 300◆◆

◆Given information:

Mean wage of 100 workers = Rs. 324

Mean wage of 60 workers = Rs. 340

◆We need to find the mean wage of remaining 40 workers.

◆Formula for mean =sum of terms/number of terms.

Using this formula we get,

●Mean = Sum of wages/ No. of workers

So, Sum of wages of 100 workers = Mean × No. of workers

=324 × 100 =32400

Likewise, Sum of wages of 60 workers = 340 ×60 = 20400

◆So,Sum of wages of remaining 40 workers =

Sum of wages of 100 workers- Sum of wages of 60 workers.

i.e. 32400 – 20400 = 12000

◆So, Mean Wage of remaining 40 workers = Sum of wages/ No. of workers

= 12000 / 40 = Rs. 300

Mean wages of 40 worker = 300

Explanation:

Given:

Mean wages of 100 worker = 324

Total wages of 100 worker = 324 × 100 = 32,400

Mean wages of 60 worker = 340

Total wages of 60 worker = 340 × 60 = 20,400

Find:

Mean wages of 40 worker

Computation:

Mean wages of 40 worker = [Total wages of 100 worker - Total wages of 60 worker] / 40

Mean wages of 40 worker = [32,400 - 20,400] / 40

Mean wages of 40 worker = [12,000] / 40

Mean wages of 40 worker = 300
