Answer:

let the total weight be X

mean = total weight÷total number of students

48=X ÷20

X= 48×20

X= 960 kg

2 more students joined the class

one student with weight 60kg

another student with weight 58kg

therefore total students becomes 22

Now total weight =960 +60 +58

total weight =1078 kg

mean = 1078 ÷22

mean = 49kg

Hence the mean weight of class now becomes 49kg
