पादप में दो प्रकार के ऊतक पाये जाते हैं। जायलम और फ्लोएम।
जायलम पादपों में घुलित जल व लवणों का संवहन करता हैं।
इसमें मुख्य कोशिका वाहिका एंव वाहिनिका पायी जाती हैं।
वाहिका और वाहिनिका मिलकर लम्बी नलिका संरचना बनाती हैं। इससे जल संवहन सरलता से हो जाता हैं।
इसमें जायलम मृदुतक एंव दृढोतक ऊतक पाये जाते है जो इनको मजबूती प्रदान करते हैं।
जायलम को "दारू" भी कहते हैं।
