Correct Question:-

The measure of an angle of a parallelogram is 1/8 times of its adjacent angle. Find the measures of all the angles of the parallelogram.

Answer:-

Let the two angles be x and y.

Given:

One of the angles is 1/8 times the other.

→ x = 1/8 * y

→ x = y/8 -- equation (1)

We know that,

Sum of two adjacent angles of a parallelogram = 180°.

Hence,

→ x + y = 180°

Putting the value of x from equation (1) we get,

→ y/8 + y = 180°.

→ (y + 8y) / 8 = 180°

→ 9y = 180 * 8

→ y = 180 * 8/9

→ y = 160°

Putting the value of y in equation (1) we get,

→ x = y/8

→ x = 160/8

→ x = 20°

we know,

Opposite angles of a parallelogram are equal.

Hence, other two angles are also 160° , 20°.

Therefore, the four angles of the given parallelogram are 160° , 20° , 160° , 20°.
