Answer:

The measure of the two angles is 40 and 50 degrees.

Step-by-step explanation:

Two numbers are said to be complementary if their sum is 90. If the measure of one of the angles is 90 degrees, the measure of the other angle will be equal to 90 - 40 = 50.

To Find:-

  • Measure of both the angles.

════◄••❀••►════

Concept Used:-

Two angles are said to be complementary angles when thier sum is 90°.

════◄••❀••►════

Solution:-

Let the complement angle be x°

than the given angle be x-40°

According to given conditions;

Sum of Complement angles = 90°

➟ x + (x-40) = 90

➟ x + x - 40 = 90

➟ 2x - 40 = 90

➟ 2x = 90 + 40

➟ 2x = 130

➟ x = 130 ÷ 2

➟ x = 65°

∴x = 65°

Answer:-

  • Angle = x = 65°
  • Complement of angle = x - 40

= 65 - 40 = 25°.

Hence, Angles are 65° and 25°.
