Let the angle be x.

The complement of this angle will be 90 - x

x is 8 times its compliment

x is 8 ( 9 0 - x )

==> x = 8 ( 90 - x )

==> x =720 - 8 x

==>9 x = 720

==> x = 720 / 9

==> x = 80

The angle is hence 80 degrees
