The measure of each side of a square paper is (a-2) units. Find the area of the paper.

Answer:

Area = Side × Side

Therefore area of square is (a-2)×(a-2)

(a-2)² = a² + 4 - 2(a)(2)

= a² + 4 - 4a

Therefore Area of square is :-

a² - 4a + 4
