Given :

  • One parallel side = 4 more than other
  • Area = 80 cm
  • Distance between parallel sides = 10 cm

To find :

  • Length of the parallel side

Formula :

✯ Area of Trapezium = 1 / 2 × sum of parallel sides × Distance between the parallel sides

According to the question :

⇛Let the length of one parallel side be x

⇛Other side length will be 4 + x

⟹ 80 = 1 / 2 × [ x + ( x + 4 ) ] × 10

⟹ 80 = [ x + ( x + 4 ) ] × 5

⟹ 80 = ( 2x + 4 ) × 5

⟹ 80 = 10x + 20

⟹ 10x = 80 - 20

⟹ 10x = 60

⟹ x = 60 / 10

x = 6

∴ Length of one parallel side = 6 cm

We can also find :

Length of another side = 4 + x

↦6 + 4

10 cm

So, It's Done !!
