The measure of two complementary angles are in the ratio 1 : 5. What is the measure of the smaller angle?

Answer:

Let angles be x and 5x

And we know that

Two angles are called complementary if their measures add to 90 degrees

Therefore

x+5x=90

6x=90

x=90/6

x=15

Therefore angles are x=15^degree

5x=5*15=75^degree

[15,75]
