the measurement of the height of a particular place by the help of a bench mark i believe is a sport height .spot height is the altitude or the height of a place .it is the way in which heights are shown in maps .in maps spot heights are the places with a measurement next to it
if the height of a place is known and it is marked on the topographical maps of the area but there is no physical mark of the place then that is what is refered to as the spot height and then bench marks comes in as a height that is calculated in relation to the known height which is also known as the spot height
