15
area of rect. park= l×b
= 20×12
= 240m sq.
area of sq.park= side × side
=15×15
=225m sq.
therefore, 225<240

area of rect.park is larger

sonukaushal2805: 225 is not greater than 240
aparna2019: sorry

legth \: of \: the \: rectangle = 20m.....(given)
breadth \: of \: the \: rectangle = 12m.....(given)

to \: find: \\ area \: of \: the \: rectangle.

we \:know \: the \: area \: of \: the \: \\ rectangle \: is \: l \times b.....(where \: l \\ is \: the \: length \: and \: b \: is \: the \: breadth)

area \: of \: the \: rectangle = l \times b \\ (where \: l = length = 20m \\ b = breadth = 12m)

area \: of \: rectangle = 20m \times 12m \\ area \: of \: the \: rectange= 240m

We have now got the area of the rectangle but as mentioned in the question we are comparing the area to find out which has larger area, so for comparison we also need to find the area of the square.

side \: of \: the \: square \: park \: \: = 15m.....(given)

area \: of \: the \: square  \:park = (side)^{2}

area \: of \: the \: square \: park = {15}^{2}.......(side \: given \: as \: 15m)

area \: of \: the \: square park = 225 \: sq.m

Now,we can compare the area of a rectangle and the area of a square and can find which has larger area.

Area of the rectanglur park =240 sq.m

Area of the square=225 sq. m

Hence, considering the values of the area of the rectanglur park and the square park,

The area of the rectanglur park is greater than the area of the square park i.e=240sq.m>225sq.m
