The measures of two adjecent sides of a parallelogram are in the ratio 17:7. if the smaller side measures 3.5 cm ,find the perimeter of the parallelogram.

Let the sides be 17x and 7x.


 7x = 3.5 cm \\ \\ x = \frac{3.5}{7} = \frac{1}{2} \\ \\ \\ Perimeter = 2(17x + 7x) \\ \\ = 2 \times 24x \\ \\ = 48x \\ \\ = 48 \times \frac{1}{2} = 24 cm


24 cm is the answer.
