Mode= 3 Median - 2 mean

=> 16= 3 median - 2*28

=> 16= 3 median - 56

=> 3 median= 72

=> median= 72/3= 24

so, The Median of distribution is 24

Concept

The mean is the most commonly used measure of central tendency. It actually represents the average of the given data collection. It is applicable to both continuous and discrete data.

It is equal to the sum of all values in the data collection divided by the total number of values.

In general, the median represents the middle value of a given set of data when arranged in a certain order.

Median: As the data collection is arranged in ascending or descending order.

The most frequent number occurring in a data set is known as the mode.

The relationship between the mean, median, and mode, which means three measures of central tendency for a slightly skewed distribution, is given by the formula:

Mode = 3 Median – 2 Mean

Given

It is given that median=10 and mode = 12

Find

We need to find the mean of the score

Solution

Mode = 3 Median – 2 Mean

12= 3(10) - 2 Mean

2 Mean = 30-12

2 Mean=18

Mean= 18/2

Mean= 9

Hence the mean of the score is 9
