The statement is True.

  • It represents the middle value or term in the given data. It is the number in the centre of a sorted group of numbers.
  • The numerals must first be sorted in a sequence of values from the lowest to the highest or from the highest to the lowest for its calculation in a number series.
  • For example, the median of 3, 3, 5, 9, 11 is 5.
  • Thus, the statement that the median is always one of the Numbers in data is True

Given : The median is always one of the numbers in the data

To Find :  true or false

Solution:

The median is always one of the numbers in the data   is FALSE

Median is Middle most data , arranged in the order

or mean of the middle 2 datas

Examples

Take data of  2 numbers

3 and 5

Median is (3 + 5)/2 = 4

But 4 is not in Data  ( 3 , 5)

Hence median is not always one of the numbers in the data

If Number of terms are odd then Median is always one of the number in data

But if Data are even in numbers then its not necessary that  Median is always one of the number in data

So Given statement is False

The mean is always one of the numbers in the data - FALSE

Mean is also not always one of the numbers in the data

Mode ( if Exist) is always one of the numbers in the data
