We have been given the total number of observation is 20 which is even. The median of an even number of observations is the average value of the two middle numbers.
In case of 20 observations the median will be the average of the the 10th and 11th numbers.
Now, when we delete the first and last number then the middle values will again the 10th and 11th numbers. Hence, the median will be the average of these two numbers.
Therefore, the new median remains unchanged.
Hence, the new median is 21.5
